Nearly 100 WCU-OC graduates received their alumni pin and recited the during the event, symbolically joining the ranks of professional nursing.

“Its their initiation into the profession. Now the faculty and the dean that theyve learned so much from have now become colleagues,” WCU-OC Student Affairs Director Sherry Koshi said.

Koshi said while many people enjoy the pomp surrounding commencement exercises, pinning ceremonies are always remembered fondly by former WCU students.

Its more intimate than graduation. Its the people theyve cried, laughed, screamed and studied all night with. Its just their cohort, celebrating the completion of a very, very hard program, she said.
